Gorontalo City Government ready to hold the fort Otanaha Enchantment Festival in May 2016 to attract tourists to this area.
Mayor Taha Marten Gorontalo, Gorontalo, Friday (22/04/2016), said the festival aims to attract tourists to visit the historic fort located in the Village Dembe West City District.
In addition, to attract investors into and engaged to manage efforts to improve service to the tourists."Gorontalo city did not have a lot of natural attractions, so we rely on cultural and historical tourism by holding national activities in the cultural heritage sites," he said anyway.
According to the development of tourism is not only the task of the local government, but it requires a great role the private sector to be more professional in managing a tourist attraction.

Some of the activities that will fill the festival is the carnival culture, culinary exhibitions, photo contest, and "cross country".
Otanaha Enchantment Festival is one of eight agenda in the tourism calendar that launched the Ministry of Tourism and the Provincial Government of Gorontalo in Jakarta some time ago.
Otanaha Fortress is a fortress that was built by King Ilato in 1512 until 1525 AD.
Construction of the fort was based on the initiative of the Portuguese ships calling at the Port of Gorontalo.
Building the castle made of sand mountains, rocks, and allegedly also use Maleo bird egg white as glue cement substitute.
