Objects Hit by Airbus at Heathrow Airport is not "Drone"
A moving object is hit by a plane belonging to British Airways when the airline will land at London Heathrow Airport, it was not drones or unmanned vehicle, as initially thought.
This is expressed by the British government, as quoted by news agency AFP on Thursday (04/28/2016).
Previously reported, the airline British Airways pilot reported the plane crashed into an object suspected drone during the process of landing at Heathrow last weekend.
Commercial aircraft Airbus A320 was carrying 132 passengers and five crew, landed safely.
The British government Secretary for Transport, Patrick McLoughlin said the investigation into the incident concluded that the objects hit by Airbus A320 was not drones.
It said police had searched a large area around the airport, according to the path of aircraft landing in Richmond, southwest London. However there was no evidence of the existence of the drone.
The plane, called the challenged when it landed it had been inspected and declared safe for the next flight.
Transport Minister Robert Goodwill, last week had said that the object that was hit is probably some sort of plastic bag or similar goods.
"The pilot has a lot of matters that must be considered when landing, so we doubted what he saw," said Goodwill.
Pursuant to regulations in the UK, drones are prohibited to be flown at the airport and the surrounding area, or at an altitude of more than 122 meters.
