Tontowi Ahmad / Liliyana Natsir successfully brought home the title of the Malaysian Open Super Series Premier. Best mixed doubles Indonesia became champion after beating host representatives, Chan Peng Soon / Goh Liu Ying.
Tontowi / Liliyana have to fight three games against Chan / Goh in the final match at the Malawati Stadium, Shah Alam, Sunday (10/04/2016). They finally emerged as the winner with a score of 23-21, 13-21, and 21-16.
In a game that runs for 1 hour 21 minutes, Tontowi / Liliyana which so far was winning the second seed in the position 11-4 and 13-6 in the first game. However, the Malaysian pair won seven straight points to equalize the score to 13-13.
Tontowi / Liliyana then winning again and received a game point in the score 20-17. But Chan / Goh survive and equalized to 20-20 and 21-21. Tontowi / Liliyana then grabbed two extra points to secure the opening game.
In the second game, Chan / Goh rise. They slowly left the points Tontowi / Liliyana and finally took the game by a score of 21-13.
Game determination runs pretty tight. The second pair chasing each other up the scoring 9-9 draw position. However, after that Tontowi / Liliyana begin to pull away. They increased the lead 13-9, but Chan / Goh approaching the score 17-16. Tontowi / Liliyana then grabbed four points in a row to finish the game and win the title.
Tontowi / Liliyana be the sole representative of Indonesia in the final round. Other representatives had fallen in the previous rounds.
