A large magnitude earthquake, 7.8 on the Richter scale (formerly 7.4) rocked Ecuador in early this morning. The quake resulted in confusion and residents poured into the streets in the capital city of Quito.
"I'm at home and watch a movie, then suddenly everything was shaking. I ran out of the house and into the street," said Lorena Cazares, 36, a resident in Quito told Reuters on Sunday (17/04/2016).
Reported by Reuters, showed the government building as a bridge that collapsed in Guayaquil and the airport tower also collapsed in the city of Manta.
Electricity and telephone facilities in some cities also can not be used. Photo circulating on social media presence of cracks in the shopping center.
Not mentioned officially by the government about the casualties of the earthquake.

The tsunami wave is expected to reach a height of 1 meter above sea level. Tsunami could potentially occur in some of the beaches in Ecuador.
