Vincent Kompany is already back in training. However, Manchester City captain was not fit enough to play in the game against Paris Saint-Germain.
Kompany has not played since a recurrence of his calf injury in the game against Dynamo Kiev, on March 15. The Belgian defender had been expected to recover for the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against PSG at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday (13/04/2016) pm dawn.
Although Kompany has been training alongside his team-mates on Monday (11/4), the condition is not 100 percent. He still needs time before it is ready to perform again in a competitive match.
"Vincent Kompany is not 100 percent. It is not possible for him," said City manager Manuel Pellegrini, on the club's official website.
Because Kompany still sidelined, City will rely on the duo Nicolas Otamendi and Eliaquim Mangala in the back line. Otamendi get a minor injury when City beat West Bromwich Albion 2-1 on Saturday (9/4) and then, but he'll be ready to play against PSG.
"Otamendi ankle sprain in the last game. He will be ready to play," said Pellegrini.
City drew 2-2 with PSG in the first leg of the quarterfinals. To qualify for the semifinals, they just need a goalless draw at the Etihad.
