Working hours exceeding the limit, the German Army Exercise Terminated

The German armed forces who had been a most fearsome military power in Europe, was forced to stop the practice, because of a new rule that limits overtime.

Earlier this year, the German soldiers involved in joint NATO exercise in Norway is scheduled to last for one month.

However, the new 12-day training took place, the German soldiers stopped training because they are already far beyond the limit set working hours.

The army is already complaining about this issue because the new rules forced them just sit around all day doing nothing.

"We can not fulfill our responsibilities to NATO because of overtime rules," said Hans-Peter Berterls, members of the military commission of the German parliament, told the Bild am Sonntag.

Meanwhile, German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen came under criticism due to the pace of reforms. Now, at the military barracks provided babysitting and flat screen televisions.

Another thing that was criticized was the limited time customized military assignment as a schedule in schools.

Ursula also take care of the issues considered wrong in the military when faced with a shortage of weapons to soldiers sometimes practiced by using a broom instead of a rifle.

Last year even revealed that of the 66 Tornado fighter jets belonging to the German Air Force is less than half of those eligible to fly.

However, the minister Ursula were busy taking care of the working hours of these soldiers. Under the reform program, the maximum working hours of German military member is 41 hours a week and they do not receive overtime pay.

The new rules, said Hans-Peter Bertels, making military training camps should stop operating at 16.30 and made the soldiers "idle" in the barracks.

Some of the soldiers who live far from the barracks had to spend a day without doing anything because they can not return to the residence.

Bertels called for new rules revised and replaced weekly limit of working hours with a limit of annual working hours.
