Floating bridge in Cilacap made of hard concrete
Built without piling, bridge in Cilacap, Central Java will be built as a float. Media buoyant made of hard solid concrete.
"It is made of concrete. How can it float? Because in the middle of which was their sockets," said the Head of Research and the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Arie Setiadi Moerwanto, to detikFinance, Wednesday (11/05/2016).
This concept, he said, is derived from technology used a ship that even when made of heavy steel, but can still floating.
"So this concept is like a boat, made of steel but but could be floating. That's because he is no stomach," he explained.
Arie added, to ensure the quality and durability of the concrete used, it memnggunakan special chemical mixture when the process mencampuran concrete material during the printing process.
This is done so that the compartment alias block bridge made strong and not easily leak. "Later in the cavity will be filled with styrofoam. In addition to adding buoyancy also prevents the potential for leaks," he stated.
This unique infrastructure is the result of research, design conducted Research and Development Agency (Research and Development) Ministry PUPR to solve the problems of natural constraints that exist at the site.
These constraints are, their alias sedimentation buildup of sludge that has a depth of up to 20 meters. These conditions make the construction of the bridge by piling technology becomes almost impossible.
"Looking ahead, this bridge will be a bridge connecting to areas that can not be done pioneering construction of the bridge with the stake. It is expected to help the community," he added.
