Iannone: I regret my time with Ducati expires
Italian rider Andrea Iannone, had to leave Ducati at the end of season 2016. His position will be filled by a rider who is still defending Movistar Yamaha, Jorge Lorenzo
Ducati has decided to retain Andrea Dovizioso as co-Lorenzo in 2017 and 2018 seasons.
"For sure I regret that my time with Ducati expires at the end of the season," said Iannone.
"However, I am grateful to the factory team of Bologna for the opportunity that has been given to me in the last few years," he added.
Iannone climbed to MotoGP in 2013. He immediately spur Ducati satellite team Pramac Racing together. After two years, she went up to the factory team in 2015.
"I had my debut MotoGP with Ducati and I grow with them, always raise the level of my performance," said the 26-year rider.
Since 2013, Iannone managed to climb the podium in eight races. This year, he three times failed to finish due to an accident from five races.
"In the remaining races this season I will do my best, as I always do, because I am convinced that with the Desmosedici GP competitive we can achieve outstanding results," said Iannone.
Iannone is currently ranked 10th in the standings with 25 points.
