These women prove gender equality in Science
To this day, science is still a field that is dominated by men.
However, Fabiola GIANOTTI who served as Director General at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) proved that women also have the same opportunities in this field.
The Italian physicist became the first woman to hold that position and his record has been proved in 2012, when he became one of the physicists who changed history with the discovery of the Higgs Boson.
Recently conducted an interview with the Huffington Post GIANOTTI regarding the new role and benefits for women in general.
"I'm very happy if in my role, I can contribute to encouraging young women to take the work in scientific research, with the certainty that they have the same opportunities as men," he said.
When asked about the gender gap in science in general and physics, GIANOTTI responded, "There is no difference in ability between men and women, of course. And in my experience, the more diverse a team, he will be stronger. "
"There is a question about the lack of role models, and questions to make the workplace more friendly to families. We must memperbolehkah parents, men and women, to rest and take care of his family. We also need to provide assistance to parents through the infrastructure and facilities, "he explained.
Regarding the position, GIANOTTI commented, "The new My role is very interesting and stimulating, and I feel very honored to receive this offer."
"The days were very long and dense, and I learned many things. Nothing is more satisfying than studying, "he concluded.
