4 Days rubble of buildings in Kenya, baby girl survived


Wonderful! A baby was rescued after 4 days rubble six-storey building in Nairobi, Kenya. More than 20 people were killed in the incident.


Kenya Red Cross stated as reported by AFP on Tuesday (03/05/2016), 18 month old baby girl was found by rescuers in a state of dehydration. But there was no physical injuries are visible.

The baby was found wrapped in a blanket in a bassinet on Tuesday at around 04.00 local time. He was immediately rushed to hospital for treatment.


The collapsed building is located in Huruma, Nairobi eastern outskirts of the capital. The building collapsed on Friday, April 29 evening local time in days hit by heavy rains and flooding. According to the Kenyan Red Cross, at least 21 people were killed and 96 others remain missing in the incident.


Currently officers are working to find the baby's parents. Officers were checking records to see reports of the missing child.


"In conditions without air, dirty, without food, without water, it is very difficult for people to survive," said Anthony Mwangi, head of corporate affairs at the Kenya Red Cross to NBC News, Tuesday (03/05/2016).


The discovery of the baby girl was still alive when this happened dwindling hopes of finding survivors. But Mwangi said the survival of the baby grow new hope.


"Search and rescue operation will not be stopped until it is certain that no more of those missing could have survived," he said.
