Telkom is ready to present 1,000 digital libraries in 34 provinces of Indonesia


As an implementation program 'SOE Present To State' and to support the Community Library of the Ministry of Education and Culture, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk will provide Digital Library or abbreviated rice in 1,000 locations as Indonesia.


Telkom Group's commitment is evidenced by the launch ceremony at the Tower Multimedia Digital Library Jakarta, Wednesday (4/5). Attending the event include: CEO of Telkom Group - Alex J. Sinaga, Minister of SOEs - Rini Soemarno and Minister of Education and Culture - Anies Baswedan.

Previously, Telkom has had a commercial platform called Qbaca. This is an e-book store or stores digital books that have a variety of literature from various publishers in it.


Through the paddy, Telkom intends to provide access to the entire digital libraries belonging to various publisher to the whole society for free. The revenue share for publishers remain the responsibility of Telkom.


One publisher that has established a partnership with Telkom is the Central Library. This cooperation is one of the implementation of the synergy which Telkom provides e-library for digital books Balai Pustaka and act as a delivery channel.


"Digital Library can be used by the entire community to access various readings provided not only published by Balai Pustaka, but also a variety of other libraries that have been provided earlier in the application Qbaca," said Alex J. Sinaga.


Until this time, rice is already available in more than 200 locations in 34 provinces in Indonesia. By the end of 2016, Telkom will provide 1,000 PADI located in Grapari Telkomsel, Wifi Corner and Plasa Telkom.


The development of digital technologies and their use by the wider community has become Telkom's attention. As a state that is at the forefront of technology development in Indonesia are appropriately Telkom partly responsible for encouraging the establishment of a digital society Indonesia.


Education Minister - Anies Baswedan Telkom appreciate the launch of rice. "Telkom has become an example of SOE who receive income from the public, and then return it back into useful forms. I hope that with the presence of rice could increase the interest and reading people," said Anies.


SOE Minister - Rini Soemarno also expressed appreciation for the same. "I am confident and proud to Telkom in developing ICT such as rice. Thus the SOE Ministry hopes to continue to support Kemdikbud program in improving the quality of human resources," said Rini.


Besides rice, still within the framework of "SOE Present to the State" and coincides with the National Education Day Program Indonesia Telkom has presented the Digital Learning (IDL) and My Teacher My Hero.


IDL is an ICT training program for teachers. The goal is that the teachers were able to take advantage of ICT as a means to increase the competence, the quality of the learning process and encourage students to be able to optimize ICT in the learning process.


Meanwhile, My Teacher My Hero Program is an appreciation of Telkom to top teachers who have made use of ICT in teaching and learning process.


Program "SOE Comes to the Nation" itself actually intended to encourage every state enterprises so that its presence can have a positive impact on society and actually benefit the environment and the entire nation in general.
